Business Need\n\nThe field service technician at our client will provide the after market department with an employee that will act as the technical interface between our customer.They will act in a position that allows him to provide technical assistance to the customer as a field service representative. This shall include providing direction to the customer for repairs, modifications and warranty issues. The technician shall provide the customers sufficient details to allow for the ordering of spare parts and services. Our field service technician will support our after market sales, repairs, refurbishments, inspections, and warranty efforts.\n\nIn the home office the technician will provide additional support in the writing of instruction manuals, spare parts and work packages. This technician will provide additional office support by responding to customer enquiries regarding technical support of our equipment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nEstablish additional technical support for our customer, both in the field and at the home office.\nprovide the customer with supervision to assist in the repair, inspection, modification and refurbished of our equipment in the field\nprovide our customers with technical support on the telephone while at the home office\ngenerate new instruction manuals as required to support new equipment orders\ngenerate work packages in the home office for use in the field to allow for the proper maintenance of our equipment\nperform customer site sales visits to assure that all potential customers are aware of our capabilities\nproposals shall be generated by the technician for maintenance contracts, spare parts sales and service representative sales.\nThis will include the pricing and technical research to establish the basis of the proposal.\nThe technician will be required to perform as a supervisor on valve maintenance contracts. This will require them to be responsible for supervising crews and assuring that equipment is properly repaired or maintained\n\nPerson Specification\n\nAbility to travel at short notice and work away from home for extensive mounts of time. Work assignments often extend into holiday periods and up to six weeks long.\nAssociate degree in mechanical engineering or extensive related valve maintenance experience.
